Rosenthal Design Vases launch in new colours

145 years of Rosenthal, 145 years of design history. For many decades, the renowned porcelain manufacturer has stood for avant-garde designs and has collaborated with world-renowned artists, designers and architects. The iconic design vases, which now shine in new, soft pastel colours as Design Vases+, are outstanding: Unusual and expressive shapes meet amazing structures, cast from coloured porcelain.

In 1976, Claus Josef Riedel, a glass designer specialising in wine glasses, designed the asymmetrical Asym shape, which itself looks like a wide-open and irregular flower shape. The vase is now available in the white-opaque colour Sea Salt.

With Vase of Phases, New York-based Studio Dror was inspired by the fragility of beautiful things. The vase looks like a snapshot just before it explodes and is now making its debut in the colour Pacific.

With Fast, in 2006 Cédric Ragot created an interpretation of social change in the digital age. It is now available in the colour Cameo. Fascinated by the plasticity and the limits of the malleability of materials, Ragot also designed Squall, now launched in the colour Mint: the object, designed in 2007, captures a dynamic movement and allows it to solidify.

The Skum (Danish for foam) vase by architecture firm BIG now also comes in the colour Fossil and is based on an inflatable art pavilion designed by Danish star architect Bjarke Ingels in 2016.

With Hop, the well-known German designer Sebastian Herkner has created a vase whose stacked rings are reminiscent of Michelin men or sculptures by the artist Tony Cragg. Hop now comes in the deep blue colour Atlantic.

Each vase tells a story and is an expression of the individual creativity of renowned artists and designers. The objects, which measure between 26 and 32 centimetres, have an elegant look thanks to the matt feel on the outside and the glaze on the inside.

The vases cost between 195 and 465 in the RRP and will be available from February.
