Rosenthal and Thomas achieve an iF Design Award 2017

An extraordinary Rosenthal vase sculptured like a whirlwind and a new multi-functional table concept by Thomas convinced the 58-member iF jury, made up of independent experts from all over the world. The vase Squall and the collection ONO by Thomas have both been honored in the categories Household/Tableware with the renowned iF Design Award 2017. With more than 5,500 submissions from 59 countries worldwide the competition was intense. For Squall it is the third, for ONO already the fifth design prize.

Squall picks up on the idea behind designer Cédric Ragot's already highly successful Fast vase, which he created back in 2007, to capture and freeze the entire dynamics of a movement. Squall is reminiscent of a whirlwind or vortex, whose elemental force is cast and immortalized in porcelain.

The ONO collection created by designer Kilian Schindler is presenting not only an extremely trendy, multi-functional tableware design, but also a particularly innovative and sustainable concept. A natural combination of materials with elements of wood, silicone, glass and wire mesh accentuates the modern look and turns the design into a versatile all-rounder.

The iF Design Award is being granted since more than 60 years by the iF International Forum Design GmbH, Hanover. It is among the most important design awards in the world.
