Beyond the Boundaries: Trendy design objects by Rosenthal and Sambonet
Strip „Black Platinum“/Design: Zaha Hadid Design
Black, glossy, monolithic - the new vase Strip "Black Platinum" appears as if from another planet. Sculpturally, similar to a skyscraper, the form strives upwards. The prominent design is elegantly interrupted by delicate lines in platinum that nestle against the porcelain body. It is an art in itself to set the precious metal so wafer-thin and precisely fitting into millimeter-fine grooves and to shape the once liquid porcelain mass into an artistic vase object, as only the porcelain designers at Rosenthal have mastered.
Strip "Black Platinum" is available as a vase in 30 cm, 40 cm and 45 cm. Each size is limited to 100 pieces.
Phi/Design: Cairn Young
Cairn Young has designed the Phi collection for Rosenthal featuring five vases with striking surface structures: Freeze, Spindrift, City, Manhattan and Snow. Complex, spiral-shaped geometric patterns cover the white porcelain bodies, transforming them into sculptural objects with an innovative 3D effect. The effect made by light refracting on the vase surfaces adds a poetic element. These items are beautiful both as standalone pieces or arranged as a decorative vase ensemble.
Sambonet - Gio Ponti
The charming centrepiece gives rise to a capsule collection dedicated to the Gio Ponti design. The project of the Centrepiece was unpublished up to 2013 – when Sambonet finally brought the project to light – it was immediately awarded the most prestigious international Design recognitions, soon becoming one of the most representative creations. This masterpiece reflects the maturity of his work, connecting both the architectural rationalism of the XX century and the anthropological principle of his own theory, according to which man’s habits determine the form of everyday objects.
Teufel x Rosenthal Loudspeaker Set
The production of the porcelain casing of the Teufel x Rosenthal loudspeakers is characterised by the highest level of craftsmanship and skill. The drop-shaped loudspeaker with integrated bass reflex tube is cast by hand and in one piece from a special hard porcelain casting compound by Rosenthal in Germany.
