Rosenthal receives three German Design Awards 2018
Three awards in each of the last three years – this simple formula sums up Rosenthal GmbH’s performance when it comes to the coveted German Design Award. This year, the company is again set to receive three of the renowned awards for outstanding product design. In the “Tabletop” category, Rosenthal’s Fondale vase has been earmarked for a gold award and the new Junto design for a winner’s award. The first WLAN loudspeaker system made of porcelain, Teufel x Rosenthal, which was co-designed with the audio technology specialist Teufel, has also earned the company a special mention in the “Entertainment” category.
The German Design Award, which started in 2012, is one of the most renowned design competitions in the world and is awarded by the German Design Council. The jury scrutinised a total of more than 5,000 submissions.
A cylindrical body and tapered collar, with a subtly shimmering surface that brings out the individual flowers, make the Fondale vase the perfect stage for creative flower arrangements.
Eating together, having a good time and celebrating life – the new Rosenthal Junto design innovatively and playfully brings together people and their love of good food from all over the world. A subtle fusion of fine porcelain, sumptuous ceramics and warm wood enables all manner of combinations for any cuisine.
The finest sound quality from Teufel meets the finest porcelain from Rosenthal – the world’s first streaming speaker made from porcelain Teufel x Rosenthal combines technical expertise, innovative materials and a unique design. The porcelain bodies for the loudspeakers are hand-made at Rosenthal in Selb.
