For the Dearest Heart: The best design gifts for Mother's Day
Mum's heart is full of love and devotion, no matter where we are or how many years we may already have behind us. For Mother's Day, Rosenthal, Rosenthal meets Versace and Hutschenreuther have prepared the stylish gift ideas and praise this special day not only in May but all year round.
Rosenthal - Vesi
Water is, in the truest sense of the word, the source of life and appears to us in ever new forms, without us being consciously aware of it. The Finnish designer Mikko Laakkonen is fascinated by the unobtrusive beauty of this element and captures its manifold forms in the Rosenthal vase collection "Vesi" (Finnish: water) in delicate porcelain. Two reliefs characterize the Scandinavian-inspired series: while "Wavelet" imitates the calm flowing waves of water on the outside of the vases, "Droplet" trenchantly places large and small drops on the shiny porcelain. The result is a successful mix of look and feel - the vases impress with beautiful design and feel good.
Rosenthal - Minivases
You can never hava enough vases. When these vases feature autstandingly beautiful shapes, there are virtually no limits to a person's passion for collecting them. So it's good to know that Rosenthal's most popular vases are also available in miniature. These beautiful items exist in "Surface", "Squall", "Fast", "Falda" and "Skum" designs. It's hard to believe that some of them have already been around for decades. The fact that these designs are still in keeping with the times is thanks to brilliant designers such as Tapio Wirkkala, Cairn Young and Sebastian Herkner.
Rosenthal - Node
Intertwined shape, flowing lines, soft porcelain - the ingredients for the Node vase of the Rosenthal Studio-line are simple, the result is beguiling. Designer Martin Hirth, one of the most acclaimed German newcomers of recent years, applies a typical design principle to the form of his "Node" design for Rosenthal: Movement and the merging and transformation of the familiar run like a thread through the designer's product portfolio. In "Node", Hirth literally pours this principle into a voluminous, geometric knot shape and creates a vase that seems more like a sculpture than a utilitarian object. "Node" is available in three colour versions: in white through-dyed porcelain, as well as in dark green Abyss and in rosé shade Cameo.
Rosenthal meets Versace - La Medusa Vases
Crafted in Germany from premium porcelain, Rosenthal meets Versace's latest vase collection is modelled on Versace´s successful "La Medusa" handbag adorned with a Medusa plaque – the same décor that was discovered on the doors of the brand's first headquarters in Milan. A special detail is the curved offset of the top with the iconic Medusa and fine decorative stitching as on the leather handbag. The cylindrical vases made of coloured porcelain are available in three sizes in pastel shades of pink, green and blue.
Hutschenreuther - Flower Minis
Slim, bulbous, cup-shaped - the lovely Hutschenreuther Flower Minis made of fine Bone China are an absolute eye-catcher. Their silhouettes imitate the classic Hutschenreuther vase shapes and whether on their own or as a group, these six graceful tinies are the perfect match to any interior. The all-rounders in miniature reach a height of only seven to eleven centimetres and show off small bouquets just as skillfully as single flowers. The elegant mini vases can be easily combined with all Hutschenreuther Bone China collections.
Hutschenreuther - My Mug Collection: Cats & Dogs
Eight new cheerful motifs embellish the popular "My Mug" mug collection by Hutschenreuther in 2023. Cute cats and well-behaved dogs cavort on high-quality bone china mugs and brighten our mood with their cheerful spirits already in the morning. The colourful mug series depicts Germany's most popular pets, including devoted four-legged friends such as a Dachshund, German Shepherd, French Bulldog and Labrador, but also cuddly kitties such as a Maine Coon, European Shorthair, Bengal Cat and British Shorthair.
Whether for coffee or tea, the lovely mugs put you in a good mood and are the perfect companions for a smooth start into the day.
