For drinking or decorating: Rosenthal Glass Collections 2019
Rosenthal Dandelion glassware/design: Alvaro Uribe
The image of the wind carrying away dandelion pollen was the inspiration behind New York designer Alvaro Uribe’s new, elegant and delicate Dandelion drinking glass and gift collection. The linear cut of the body and base ensures that the glasses sparkle from all angles and provides a striking counterpoint to the tactile, balanced shape. Champagne, wine, whisky and longdrink glasses create a distinctive and timeless table arrangement, and come complete with two matching vases, a bowl and an underplate.
Rosenthal Beak gift series/design: Thomas Bastide
Three sensuous, slightly conical glass vases, which feature a striking inverted segment, will become part of the Rosenthal collection in 2019. The form of the common stork’s-bill, which hides the flowers’ less attractive stems while skilfully steering the focus towards the blossoms, was the inspiration behind the distinctive look. A versatile bowl – whether it takes pride of place on the table filled with pastries or fruit, or stands alone as a single decorative item – blends in harmoniously with the ensemble.
Rosenthal Stella tealight holders/design: Jule Witte
The striking faceted finish, alongside the elaborate interplay of geometric shapes including triangles, diamonds and hexagons, and the vibrant colour scheme of designer Jule Witte’s new tealight holders turn these small accessories made of heavy block glass into real ‘eye’-lights. The collection is available in gold, bordeaux, olive and smoke, and its hexagonal form makes it easy to combine into different patterns and shapes or stack to save space.
